Arrests Include Brazos County Inmate Assaulting A Detention Officer, Interfering With Bryan Police, Drug Related Robbery and Assault, & Multiple DWI’s

An inmate held at the Brazos County jail for six weeks faces an additional charge of hitting a detention officer in the face at least 13 times with a closed fist. 28 year old Christian Nelson of Bryan, who was originally in jail on assault charges in Brazos and Harris counties, is accused of the Tuesday morning attack as he was being escorted to the medical holding cell.

Bryan police made three trips to a fourplex on Frontier Drive, off Finfeather north of Palasota. The first two calls were noise complaints. The third time, Wednesday during the midnight hour, was after hearing the person reporting the first two calls being threatened by six to seven highly intoxicated neighbors. Three women were arrested. 37 year old Johneasha Nicole Crawford of Bryan and 39 year old Erica Crawford of Hearne were charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. And 36 year old Kimberly Crawford of Bryan was charged with interfering with an officer who was making the other arrests.

Two more arrests have been made from a drug related robbery and beating near the victim’s College Station home last December. According to the arrest report from College Station police, the victim set up the sale of one hundred bars of Xanax through Facebook. That led to identifying 19 year old Ronald Sweed Jr. of College Station. That led to the identities of three others. 18 year old Cedric Williams of College Station was arrested Tuesday and 19 year old Christian Sheppard of College Station the day before. The victim told police he was struck five times in the face, requiring stitches to close two cuts to the bridge of his nose. The street value of the drugs was estimated at between $500 and $1,000 dollars.

A Bryan man who was arrested for drunk driving Monday night has five prior DWI convictions. Bryan police responded to a call that 59 year old Waymond Hawkins left his house following an argument where he been drinking heavily. According to the arrest report, Hawkins returned home and told police he had approximately one beer per hour between ten in the morning and 11:30 that night.

Another arrest for drunk driving with multiple convictions was made last weekend by a Brazos County deputy sheriff. According to the arrest report, the deputy was concerned with recent burglaries that a dually truck had parked multiple times around three in the morning near homes northeast of Bryan. After visiting with the driver and having him perform field tests, 49 year old Duke Fulton of Hearne was arrested for DWI with three or more convictions.
