City Of Bryan Response To International Criticism Of Its Animal Services Department

One Bryan resident files 13 complaints alleging the abuse of the same dog. That’s followed by international criticism directed at the city of Bryan. The city of Bryan issued a response on its social media and website on Wednesday (January 22). The city’s animal services supervisor Ashley Bishop says the owners of the 75 pound dog named “Blue” have done everything required by state and local law. Bishop also says the owners have done everything city officials have asked. The city response also addressed what was described as “misinformation”. Bishop says claims that Blue was being choked by a seat belt are not true. Animal control assisted the dog’s owners to untangle Blue’s collar from the dog’s tether. Bishop says the Bryan animal center has fielded calls from around the state, around the country, and from Canada about Blue. College Station Police Arrests One For Stealing Baby Formula From Multiple Stores And Another For Public Intoxication With Four Convictions In 2024

A Dallas woman has been in the Brazos County jail since January 12th on warrants from College Station police charging her with stealing baby formula on the same day last November at multiple stores. The CSPD arrest report refers to a loss prevention specialist at H-E-B who says formula was taken from all five stores in Bryan/College Station. The 25 cans of the same kind of formula that were taken from College Station’s three H-E-B stores had a retail value of $1,101.59. 23 year old Alondra Espinoza-Eporotlan is held on bonds totaling $20,000 dollars on theft charges. She is also being held for immigration authorities. The arrest report says a second person who was not identified was also involved in the theft. A College Station man who was convicted of public intoxication in local courts four times last year returns to jail on a new charge of the same offense. The arrest report from College Station police says officers were called Wednesday night (January 22) to a local fast food restaurant on the report of someone yelling and screaming in a manner that was troublesome to those around him. 34 year old Bob Esquivel was also charged with resisting arrest when he blocked officers from searching him. As of January 23, Esquivel remains jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $6,000 dollars. The CSPD arrest report says Esquivel was convicted in College Station municipal court of public intoxication in February and August of 2024. Online Brazos County court records shows Esquivel pleaded guilty to public intoxication in August and September of 2024.
