Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive Monday at the scene of a plane crash near the Navasota airport Sunday that killed two adults and two children.
Grimes County sheriff Don Sowell told our sister station Navasota News 1550 the wreckage was spotted by another pilot, who reported it to Easterwood Airport at 9:32 a.m.
Sowell said with the assistance of a medical helicopter, emergency responders found the single engine, four seat plane.
DPS trooper Jimmy Morgan says the plane left Hooks airport in Spring at 9:19 a.m., or 13 minutes before the wreckage was found.
Morgan says the victims, who are not related, are from the Houston area. Their names have not been released.
