College Station Police Investigating Home Depot Robbery

What started as a shoplifting at College Station’s Home Depot just before noon Tuesday is now considered a robbery.

College Station police report a 43 year old store employee sustained minor injuries after he was pushed to the floor by one of two suspects.

The men, who were attempting to leave the store with unpaid merchandise, ran away empty-handed.

The employee who was hurt declined medical treatment at the scene.

News release from College Station police:

On December 29, 2015 at about 1155 hours Officers with The College Station Police Department responded to 1615 University Drive East (Home Depot) in reference to a reported Robbery. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving in the area.

After an initial canvasing of the area, Officers met with the victim (a 43 year old WM and resident of College Station) who is an employee of Home Depot.

As the officers spoke to the victim and several witnesses on scene, they learned the following:

Shortly before 1155 hours two Hispanic males attempted to leave the store with several items that store employees identified as having not been paid for. When employees attempted to prevent the two males from leaving the premise with the merchandise, one of the males pushed an employee resulting in the two falling to the ground where a struggle ensued.

In the course of falling to the ground and struggling with the suspect, the involved employee received minor injuries. The employee would later refuse treatment on scene.

The two males then fled the area on foot, running southbound through the businesses along University Drive. The merchandise was left behind and recovered by employees.

The description of the two males is as follows:

Suspect #1: Hispanic male, mid-twenties, thin line beard, brown eyes, black hair, black hoodie with yellow writing on the front, black hat, black pants, 5’06” – 5’07”, and approximately 250 lbs.

Suspect #2: Hispanic male, mid-twenties, clean shaven, black hair, brown eyes, grey sweat shirt, white under shirt, grey sweat pants, 5’08” – 5’09” inches tall, and about 250 lbs.
