Carolina No Longer Perfect and K.C. and Minnesota Clinch

ATLANTA (AP) _ The Atlanta Falcons have stopped Carolina’s bid for a perfect
season by downing the Panthers 20-13. Julio Jones had nine receptions for 178
yards for the 8-7 Falcons, including a 70-yard scoring grab that put Atlanta
ahead to stay. Quarterback Cam Newton fumbled on the Panthers’ last series and
threw for just 142 yards as Carolina fell to 14-1.

UNDATED (AP) _ The Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs have clinched NFL
playoff berths by winning yesterday. Adrian Peterson and Jerick McKinnon
combined for 193 rushing yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings ripped the
New York Giants 49-17 and tied Green Bay for first place in the NFC North. The
Chiefs tied a team record with their ninth straight win as Alex Smith threw a
pair of touchdown passes in a 17-13 win over Cleveland.
