Flooding closes a College Station ISD elementary school. CSISD’s social media says at Pebble Creek elementary, a broken pipe caused extensive flooding throughout the school. Pebble Creek will be closed Thursday, December 5th. Campus administrators will announce the status of Friday classes on Thursday before 4 p.m.
A College Station man has been in the Brazos County jail since last Saturday (November 30) after his arrest by College Station police on charges he struck a child between 10 and 30 times. The CSPD arrest report says this happened in a vehicle parked at Walmart. The witness said the father threw the child inside the vehicle, then the hitting caused the vehicle to move. The officer said the child, who was under the age of 15, had bruises, redness, swelling, and small patches of broken blood vessels. The arrest report did not make a reference if there was any medical treatment. The father said he spanked the child on buttocks to discipline the child. 36 year old Robert Cooper III is held as of December 4th is held in lieu of a $75,000 dollar bond. An 18 year old arrested by College Station police last Saturday (November 30) after making a false report remains in jail on a hold for immigration authorities. The CSPD arrest report says multiple vehicles responded with lights and sirens after the woman told 9-1-1 dispatchers that her husband was going to shoot her and her mother. The woman, Yency Ramirez, told officers there was no threat, only an argument where she wanted officers to respond as quickly as possible.
Residents at Southgate Village apartments in College Station who have been without natural gas and water have the attention of Brazos County commissioner Wanda Watson. At the end of Tuesday’s meeting (December 3), Watson thanked those who have assisted residents and asked for prayers for affected residents. Watson also said her heart goes out to those who have had no heat during the recent drop in temperatures.
