Update on Bryan and College Station Fire Investigations

Bryan fire investigators report they were not able to come up with the cause of a fatal mobile home fire. The July 28th fire near the municipal golf course took the life of 32 year old Susanna Lott. Six other adults and a child escaped. The cause of death according to the autopsy report from Austin was a combination of burns and smoke inhalation. Lott’s death was ruled an accident.

In College Station, an ex-boyfriend has been arrested on an arson charge from an apartment fire the weekend before last. 28 year old Logan Newsome is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s upstairs unit at the Briarwood Apartments and starting the fire in a clothes closet. According to online court records, Newsome served 55 days in jail last winter after pleading guilty to violating a protection order filed by the same woman.
