College Station Traffic Hindered Wednesday By A Natural Gas Line Leak & Thursday Advisories Due To Ongoing Projects

A third party cut a natural gas line in south College Station Wednesday during the noon hour. For the next two hours, traffic was blocked on Fitch between Pebble Creek Parkway and Lakeway, which blocked access in and out of the Stone Forest subdivision and resulted in a fire department shelter in place order for those living in the Spring Meadows neighborhood.

Motorists in College Station should prepare for slow traffic Thursday at two intersections. The city announces periodic lane closures at Texas and Brothers by Walmart and at Barron and Alexandria due to continuing installation of new traffic signals. The work is scheduled to take place Thursday between 8:30 and 4:30.
