On Saturday night, Bryan Police were called to a street party in the 1200 block of West 17th Street just after 10:30pm.
Officials say that shortly after officers arrived, they heard several gunshots and the crowd dispersed.
Police found three victims at the scene, including 14-year-old D’Antwon Miles. He was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital.
A 14-year-old female suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper leg. She was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital.
A 42-year-old female suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to the buttock. She was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
A fourth victim was found nearby in the 1200 block of Lowery. The 17-year-old male was shot in the upper arm. He was treated and released from Baylor Scott and White Hospital.
Two vehicles in the 1200 block of West 17th and one vehicle in the 900 block of Harlem Lane were struck by bullets fired during the altercation.
Bryan Police Chief Dean Swartzlander said, “A 14-year-old lost his life and several others were injured as a result of this senseless act of violence. The Bryan Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of D’Antwon Miles during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are also with those who were injured, their families, and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
The preliminary investigation has revealed that two groups of individuals began shooting at each other on West 17th Street, but a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
Bryan Police Detectives are committed to determining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identifying those responsible.

As of 2:00pm on Sunday, officials have said that parts of West 17th Street and Lowery will remain closed for an extended period while investigators process the crime scene.
