12 Year Old Bicyclist Hospitalized After Hit By A Pickup Truck

Bryan police responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a bicyclist on Sandy Point Road near Highway 21 Tuesday evening.

According to the BPD news release, a southbound Nissan Titan struck a 12 year-old boy traveling in the same direction on the shoulder of the roadway.

The boy was transported to a Temple hospital where he is stabilized but has critical injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation and was ticketed for Failure to Control Speed.

On April 14th, 2020 at 6:32 P.M. Officers responded to a major accident in the 2300 block of Sandy Point Road. Officers learned that a Nissan Titan was traveling southbound and struck a 12-year-old who was riding his bicycle southbound on the shoulder of the roadway. The 12-year-old was transported to Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center in Temple, Texas where he has stabilized but has critical injuries. The driver of the Titan remains cooperative with the investigation and has been issued a citation for Failure to Control Speed.
