A Robertson County man charged with 11 crimes in Brazos County district court has admitted to seven, and the remainder were dropped. According to online court records, 20 year old Daquandrance Bell of Bremond was sentenced to seven years in prison in two separate cases. One is shooting a man outside the King Mart convenience store in Bryan three years ago. Bell also admitted to trying to destroy cocaine during an arrest last year, also in Bryan. He also admitted to five other drug and weapons charges. Four other charges…three of them misdemeanors…were either dismissed or prosecutors were barred from proceeding.
One of two men has admitted to their part in having a large amount of drugs in their apartment. According to online court records, 21 year old Kyle Clayton of Missouri City faces ten years in prison. But when his punishment is reviewed after 90 days, Clayton could receive eight years of probation. He was also ordered to pay a $5,000 dollar fine. According to the arrest report from Bryan police, officers seized 5,000 Xanax pills along with smaller quantities of psychedelic mushrooms, marijuana, and Oxycodone. Clayton told officers he sold the Xanax and marijuana. Clayton’s roommate is awaiting trial while out on bond.
A Houston area man has admitted to his role in a smash and grab burglary at a Family Dollar store in Bryan last October. 24 year old Corey Elam is one of five men arrested not only for burglary but for engaging in organized criminal activity. According to the Brazos County district attorney’s office, Elam was sentenced to five years in prison. Cases against the four others remain pending. Prosecutors say Bryan police officers were waiting for the group, based on a tip from the Pasadena police department.
