Texas A&M Investigating Racist Or Offensive Social Media Posts By Current Or Incoming Students

Texas A&M announced Wednesday evening an investigation of racist or offensive social media posts by current or incoming students.

Quoting A&M’s Twitter page, “Over the past week, we have been made aware of social media posts shared online of racist or offensive statements attributed to current or incoming Texas A&M students. We have brought all of these posts to the attention of Texas A&M officials. We are investigating each of these situations, gathering information, and determining the next course of action. Racism and hate are inconsistent with what Aggies stand for and have no place at #TAMU.”

This follows a message president Michael Young posted last Sunday on A&M’s Facebook page, stating “If you see an incident of hate involving our campus community, please report it through stophate.tamu.edu. If you or someone you know needs assistance coping or simply needs to talk, contact one of our experts in Texas A&M Counseling & Psychological Services: https://caps.tamu.edu/. They are here for you.”
