The Texas A&M faculty senate’s first meeting of their new year included observations about the upcoming expiration of the health insurance agreement between Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Baylor Scott and White Health.

The new faculty senate speaker, Angie Hill Price, says administrators at the university and the A&M system office have been contacted with questions regarding the current agreement that ends June 30th.

Dr. Price said “I know that there are a lot of concerns that are raised. I was freaking out as well about the potential changes to our insurance, in particular the idea that Baylor Scott & White is going to be dropped as a provider.”

She also said “everybody’s expressed a lot of concern across campus about this. And so we’re going to monitor that and try to get responses as quickly as possible and get information to you.”
