Join the African American National Heritage Society (dba) Brazos Valley African American Museum as we honor and publicly recognize thirteen individuals who have made significant contributions to our community.

This year’s honorees include the following:

        Special Recognition: The Late George Maurice Jackson, AANHS Board

The 18th Annual Appreciation Banquet includes dinner, entertainment, and silent auction. The speaker is Judge Maria T. Jackson, Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 1, Presiding Judge. Judge Jackson is 1 of the 19 Black Female History-making judges elected in Harris County in 2018. Tickets may be purchased for $55 per person and tables with seating for 10 may be reserved for $500. Deadline for reservations are February 7, 2019. Ticket reservations received after February 7th will be open seating. Payments may be made online through our website or mail check payable to AANHS to the museum. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please see our website for the contribution form.

The banquet is a major fundraiser for the Museum whose budget is dependent on the success of the event. The banquet helps the Brazos Valley African American Museum to operate the facility, offer programs for the community and school children, bring in and develop new exhibits, and provide staff development opportunities. The Society is a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization. The Museum is an Arts Council Affiliate and this event is made possible in part through Hotel Tax Revenue Funding from the City of College Station through the Arts Council of Brazos Valley.
