COLLEGE STATION, March 14, 2017 — The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation will host U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady and The Honorable Bill Archer for an evening lecture on “The View from Capitol Hill” on March 24 at 6 p.m. at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

Brady is the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, representing the 8th District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. This powerful committee has jurisdiction over taxes, healthcare, Social Security, Medicare, international trade and welfare. Brady has been repeatedly named a Hero of the Taxpayers, Small Business Champion and Super Friend of the Seniors. He has been hailed as having one of the top five spending cut agendas on Capitol Hill and has also been honored as an Outstanding Texas Political Leader of the Year.

Archer is retired from the U.S. House of Representatives following 40 years as a public servant to his nation in local, state and federal government. Archer served the 7th District of Texas when he won the seat previously held by Former President George H.W. Bush, and at the start of the 104th Congress became the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. In 2001, Archer founded the Archer Center—the University of Texas System in Washington, D.C. with a mission to educate the next generation of leaders for local, state, federal and international services.

The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Center is celebrating its 20th Anniversary Year (1997-2017). For more information on this event and others marking this historic milestone, visit bush41.org.
