Bryan Police Investigating Online Sale That Results In An Armed Robbery

Bryan police are looking for two men accused of an armed robbery that began as an offer to buy merchandise that was posted for sale online.

Two victims told BPD that they were contacted by someone interested in buying undisclosed items that were offered for sale online.

Friday afternoon, the victims met the buyer at an undisclosed location. Then the buyer asked for a ride to Forest Park apartments on Sandy Point Road near the Brazos County jail.

At the apartment complex, the victims and the buyer were met by a second person.

That’s when the victims said they were held up at gunpoint.

The victims said they lost the property they were selling and other undisclosed items.

The victims were not injured.

The suspects, described only as black men, ran away.

The BPD news release included a reminder that when selling items online to meet at a public location and never let anyone in your vehicle. Two locations to conduct those transactions are outside the Bryan and College Station police departments, where there are exchange zones that are under video surveillance.
