In November 2023, Bryan police responded to a crash near Traditions golf course where a full sized pickup struck a tree. The driver and two passengers were injured. One of the passengers sustained numerous internal injuries. Last Friday (June 7), the driver of the truck, who was 20 years old at the time of the crash, was taken to jail on multiple charges. BPD arrest reports say the driver had a blood alcohol level four hours after the crash that was more than twice the legal limit at .193. And investigators determined the truck was going 77 miles per hour on Traditions Boulevard just before the crash. That led to the arrest of 21 year old Landry Wells of Navasota on charges of DWI and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as the result of injuries sustained by the two passengers in his truck. Wells is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $24,000 dollars.

A Bryan woman’s arrest by Bryan police for DWI with four convictions results in her 22nd trip to the Brazos County jail since 1987. The BPD arrest report says Monday (June 10) during the midnight hour, an officer stopped a pickup towing a utility trailer after seeing it swerve on Boonville Road. 65 year old Grace Galvez was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. A spokeswoman at the Brazos County district attorney’s office tells WTAW News that Galvez was previously convicted of DWI in 1987, 2009, 2012, and 2016. Galvez, who was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and a warrant on a drug charge from April 2024, remains jailed as of June 11th in lieu of bonds totaling $21,000 dollars.
