Rangers Shellacked By Rays

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Chris Archer had a career-high 12 strikeouts in seven innings in Tampa Bay’s 10-1 victory over the Texas Rangers last night. Archer had his only two walks in the first three batters he faced. It was Archer’s third career game with at least 10 strikeouts. Two have come against the Rangers.

Twins Edged Astros

HOUSTON (AP) _ Kyle Gibson gave up one run in 7 2-3 innings to propel the Minnesota Twins to a 3-1 win over the Houston Astros yesterday at Minute Maid Park. Joe Mauer homered to break a scoreless game in the sixth inning. Glen Perkins pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his 30th save.
