A&M System Board Of Regents Approve Four Construction Projects Affecting The Flagship Campus

The Texas A&M system board of regents on Thursday, approved four construction projects affecting the flagship campus.

The list includes a $5 million dollar railroad quiet zone along the tracks parallel to Wellborn Road. $500,000 dollars will be budgeted right away for pre-construction and related project costs. A&M administrators say train engine horns are adversely impacting educational and research activities, and for those staying at the new hotel and conference center. Administrators also say Union Pacific is increasing the number of daily trains in the next five years from 24 to nearly 50.
