Additional Details About College Station’s Hobby Lobby Surrounded By Police Early Sunday Morning

More information is known about College Station police spending eight hours Saturday night and Sunday morning surrounding the Hobby Lobby store.

According to CSPD arrest reports, 31 year old Eric Singleton of College Station is accused of using a cutting tool to cause extensive damage to a store safe.

He was able to elude officers that included members of the SWAT and hostage negotiations teams.

The circumstances of his capture Sunday afternoon were not disclosed.

An accomplice, 22 year old Lisa Salazar of College Station, was behind the wheel of a parked car with the engine running that was near the loading docks.

Two way radios were found in the car and in the store, along with more burglary tools in the car.

The couple remain in the Brazos County jail in lieu of bond.

Sunday evening update:

College Station police announce two arrests associated with officers surrounding the Hobby Lobby store early Sunday morning.

22 year old Lisa Salazar of College Station was found at the store. 31 year old Eric Singleton of College Station was found Sunday afternoon. Both were arrested for burglary of a building. Singleton was also charged with drug possession.

CSPD officers, including members of the SWAT and hostage negotiation teams, spent eight hours at the store.

The initial response was to a burglary alarm Saturday night shortly before 11:30.

CSPD tweeted Sunday after 1 a.m. of a search of someone seen inside the store. Around 7:30 a.m., officers left after not being able to find the second person who was later identified as Singleton.

A CSPD news release announcing the arrests did not disclose if anything was taken from the store.

This is Singleton’s second arrest in less than one week. He was out on bonds totaling $6,000 dollars following his arrest March 25th by CSPD officers on drug charges. That followed a search of his home employing a large presence of CSPD officers that was first identified as a training exercise. Bonds on Singleton’s new charges total $40,000 dollars.

College Station’s Hobby Lobby store was surrounded by police for six hours early Sunday morning.

According to CSPD tweets, the department’s SWAT and hostage negotiation teams were part of the response to an alarm received after 1 a.m. of someone seen running inside the store.

Six hours later, CSPD tweeted no one was found inside the building after a search.

As of 7:30 a.m., CSPD tweeted it was not clear if anything is missing from the store.

During the incident, motorists were advised to avoid the area of the store, which is located at Texas and Holleman.
