College Station PD Update

College Station Police Assistant Chief Chuck Fleeger visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver about Saturday’s law enforcement barbecue fundraiser at Santa’s Wonderland, next Wednesday’s law enforcement memorial service at Veterans Park, and the public’s involvement in locating three suspects of vehicle burglaries early Friday morning.

 

Details of the law enforcement barbecue fundraiser:

On Saturday May 9, 2015 local law enforcement officers from across the state will participate in a BBQ Cookoff on the grounds of Santa’s Wonderland (18898 Highway 6 South, College Station, TX) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Teams from local law enforcement agencies will include:

• Brazos County Constables Pct 1, 2, 3, and 4
• Brazos County Sheriff’s Office
• Bryan Police Department
• College Station Police Department
• Department of Public Safety
• Texas A&M University Police Department
• Texas Department of Criminal Justice

The public is invited to participate as part of a fund raising effort to benefit local charities and Officers’ Benevolent Fund with food service of a BBQ sandwich, chips and a soft drink between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday May 9th. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Tickets are available at the door.

Details of the law enforcement memorial service:

The College Station Police Department will host a Law Enforcement Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 13th at the American Pavilion located at the north end of Veteran’s Park on Harvey Road. This is a covered area that will protect the participants in case of rain.

The College Station Police Department cordially extends an invitation to all Law Enforcement, citizens, family and friends to join us on Wednesday, May 13th at 12:00 Noon for a ceremony to honor those Law Enforcement Officers nationwide who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their communities. The address will be given by Brigadier General Joe E. Ramirez Jr., Commandant Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets.

An honor guard consisting of members from the College Station Police Department, Bryan Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas A&M University Police Department will be participating. Immediately following the ceremony, a light lunch will be provided by the College Station Police Department, Bryan Police Department, and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Police Academy Alumni Associations.
