News release courtesy of College Station Police:

On Sunday, March 2nd, the Bryan/College Station area will host the 8th Annual Armadillo Dash. This has the potential to impact travel during the morning hours as over 2000 runners will participate in this event. The public is asked to keep this in mind and plan for possible delays in and around the course area between the hours of 0630 and 1100. The primary roadways impacted will be as follows:

Harvey Road between the State Highway 6 East Feeder and FM 158 will be closed to thru traffic at the start of the race (0700) until all of the ½ marathon runners have turned to the south on SH 30 (to Huntsville).

Harvey Road between Appomattox and Copperfield will be closed for the duration of the race and should reopen by 1100.

Copperfield Drive will be closed to all northbound traffic from Harvey Road until the 5K runners have turned and are returning to Veterans Park on the southbound side. Southbound traffic will not be allowed onto Copperfield Drive until all runners are off of that road.

Additional delays could be anticipated in and around the Half-Marathon course. Officers and traffic barricades/cones will allow runners priority as they move along SH 30 to Bird Pond, through Foxfire, Sebesta Road, and back out onto State Highway 6 East Feeder.
