The Texas A&M University System office sent an e-mail informing media there will be an announcement Wednesday described as “an important update on the Kyle Field Redevelopment Project.”

Those scheduled to attend includes A&M System Chancellor John Sharp, A&M President Bowen Loftin, College Station Mayor Nancy Berry, Brazos County Judge Duane Peters, and the Board Chairman of the Bryan/College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau Hunter Goodwin.

Talks have been going on for several months about the funding formula for the more than $400 million dollar project. System officials said last September they requested a $38 million dollar contribution from the twin cities and county.

Last month, Sharp said the 12th Man Foundation is in charge of generating $100 million dollars for naming rights. And the rest of the project will be funded by bonds that will be paid off by stadium revenue.

At that time, the Chancellor also said Kyle Field construction taking place in phases, being suspended to play home football games, remained likely but not finalized.
