New Students In The Texas A&M System Will Be Paying More Next Year For Tuition And Fees

One item of business missing from last week’s fall meeting of the Texas A&M system board of regents was setting next year’s tuition and fee rates.

Regent Bill Mahomes of Dallas reminded the board that was because a two year schedule was established last year.

Mahomes says there will be no change for students in a guaranteed tuition and fee rate plan for the 2018-19 school year.

But for new students, there will be an increase of 2.4 percent.

Mahomes says that matches the percentage increase in the higher education price index.

The board did not discuss whether they will implement another two year rate plan when the subject comes up a year from now.
