FM 50 Closed In Washington County Following Fatal Crash

FM 50 was closed Wednesday from south of Snook to Independence.

That’s after a three vehicle crash on 50 south of the Yegua Creek bridge in Washington County.

DPS reports the collision happened after a southbound car crossed the center line and sideswiped a box truck. The car then struck a semi tanker trailer.

The driver of the car died. She was identified as 22 year old Patrice Pleasant of Somerville.

The driver of the box truck was taken by ambulance to a Bryan hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured.

According to a WTAW listener, southbound traffic on 50 had to turn at FM 1361.

DPS was assisted by Washington County sheriff’s deputies and deputy constables from Washington County precincts one and two.

Also responding were the Brenham and Independence fire departments.
