Tip A Cop Week For Special Olympics In Bryan College Station

Law enforcement officers serving in Brazos County are participating in this week’s Special Olympics Tip-a-Cop fundraiser.

Group news release from law enforcement agencies serving Brazos County:

This year Tip-a-Cop will be held at the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant located at 1601 University Drive East in College Station.

Officers from the Bryan Police Department, College Station Police Department, Brazos County Constables, Brazos County Sheriff’s Department, Texas A&M University Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will assist the wait staff for tips.

Officers will refill drinks and assist the public in any way possible to collect tips, all of which will directly benefit the Special Olympics in our area.

Chiefs or department heads from each department will be door greeters and some vehicles from each department will be in the parking lot on display.

Law Enforcement officers are keepers of the flame for the Special Olympics and raise money for the Special Olympics each year. Officers also participate in a Torch Run to the Special Olympics State games and volunteer time working security at games held here in the Brazos Valley every year.

We ask that you take the family out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse on July 23rd, 24th, 25th, & 26th, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm for a good meal and good conversation with police officers, all while supporting a good cause. It will be fun for the whole family, a positive impact on our community, and your tips for these officers will directly benefit a great cause and a great asset to the Brazos Valley.

This year we are having themed nights.

Monday, July 23rd “Kid’s Night”: Kids that are dressed up like police officers will get a free kid’s meal with a purchase of an adult entrée. We will have a police vehicle outside for the kids to look at and play in. There will be a balloon artist and activities inside for the kids as well.

Tuesday, July 24th “Firefighter Night”: We will invite fire departments to come out and let the police officers wait tables for them. Wait staff will dress in firefighter attire. There will be a fire truck outside for the kids to look at and play in.

Wednesday, July 25th “Cops and Robbers”: The wait staff came up with this theme night where they will dress as robbers.

Thursday, July 26th “Torch Run”: Statewide Tip-a-Cop fundraiser. Texas Roadhouses across the nation will be holding a Tip-a-Cop fundraiser for Special Olympics. The wait staff will wear Torch Run shirts.
