Bryan Police Update Includes New “Stop Sticky Fingers” Reward Program

Officer Kelley McKethan of the Bryan police department visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver about the new “Stop Sticky Fingers” reward program (details are below), next week’s “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser for Special Olympics, the date of the next “Coffee With A Cop” gathering, and locations of increased traffic enforcement.

More information about the “Stop Sticky Fingers” program from Bryan police:

Every day, hundreds of thousands of dollars in property is stolen whether from a vehicle, house or business.

Right here in Bryan, police respond to burglary reports almost daily. Crimes such as these are difficult to investigate because all too often, the person doesn’t know they have been victimized until hours and sometimes days later.

The delay in reporting causes difficulties for the police in recovering the property and bringing forth criminal cases against the offenders.

Thieves are often repeat offenders and have become educated on how to avoid detection. This provides a challenge for law enforcement. Stolen property is often sold on the street, online, pawned, traded for drugs, or shipped out of the area.

The Bryan Police Department is asking for your help. If you know someone who is committing burglaries or plans to commit a burglary, buys or sells stolen property, call the Bryan Police Department’s Directed Deployment Team at (979) 209 5452. If no one answers, leave a detailed message with a call back number and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Information leading to an arrest may result in a cash reward. You are guaranteed anonymity.
