College Station Losing Its Second Public Safety Chief In Three Months

For the second time in three months, College Station is losing a public safety chief.

Police chief Scott McCollum notified his staff in an e-mail that he is retiring in April.

According to a city spokesman, McCollum has accepted a position at TEEX, the Texas A&M engineering extension service.

The departure of McCollum after 35 years at CSPD follows last November’s resignation of fire chief Jonathan McMahan after almost three years with CSFD.
