To commemorate and honor the veterans who fought in the Normandy invasion 75 years ago, the Museum of the American G.I. is hosting an event featuring women living historians, family activities and opening a new exhibit featuring maps following the first 85 days of the Normandy Campaign, a by minute timeline of D-Day, and a special highlight exhibit of Colonel James Earl Rudder.

The D Day +75 event marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Also, for a tax-deductible donation at the event, visitors of all ages will have the unique opportunity to see the inside of a tank or even pull the lanyard on an original WWII pack Howitzer. Kids are sure to have a phenomenal time with interactive activities. Through the D-Day to D-Day +84 exhibit, the public can follow the day by day movement of Allied and Axis troops from before the largest amphibious invasion in history to the strenuous days following it. Detailed maps and a D-Day by minute timeline will allow viewers to visualize the scale of the attacks. Information about the planning of D-Day and its extraordinary deceptions will be available as well. A special exhibit honoring the heroic Colonel James Earl Rudder will display some of his very own possessions. All proceeds raised will help fund the Museum of the American G.I.’s exhibits and maintain the museum’s collection for public display.
