Texas A&M System Board Of Regents Approve $115 Million Of Construction Projects In Brazos County

$115 million dollars of construction projects will start soon in Brazos County, following action at the last Texas A&M system board of regents meeting.

Two of five projects will take place on the flagship campus.

A&M vice president Jerry Strawser says construction starts next month on a $6 million dollar renovation of the ground floor of the Wing chemistry building…serving one senior faculty member and one junior faculty member.

And in June, Dr. Strawser says construction starts on an $8 million dollar renovation of the Gilchrist building.

The two largest projects take place at the RELLIS campus.

The system’s facilities and construction director, Russ Wallace, says construction will start next month on a $15 million dollar agriculture and workforce education complex.

And later this year, Wallace says construction will start later this year on an $80 million dollar innovative technologies building for TEES…the system’s engineering experiment station.

In south College Station, more than $5 million dollars will be spent at the AgriLife Extension building. Interim director Dr. Parr Rosson says the roof and heating/air conditioning sytem will be replaced later this year.
