Texas A&M President Is Asked About Moving The Home Football Season Opener To Thursday Night Again

Monday’s Texas A&M Faculty Senate meeting was an opportunity to ask questions of president Michael Young.

The last question was why he allowed the football season opener to be played for the second straight year on a Thursday.

Young was told it’s unlikely this would happen a third straight year because other SEC schools believe Thursday is a desirable date for a season opener.

But Young said if it happens in 2020, athletics director Scott Woodward will be appearing before the Faculty Senate.

Young said some enjoyed last year’s long Labor Day weekend following the Thursday home opener.
