Homicide Update: Bryan Man Arrested

An arrest has been made in connection to the shooting death of 23 year-old Jose Pina last weekend.

According to a Bryan Police news release, the suspect was robbing Pina and another victim on Virginia Street when Pina was shot and killed.

Witness statements and evidence led BPD to executing a search warrant for an address in the 4000 block of Woodcrest in Bryan where they arrested 28 year-old Cameron McClane Sonny Krumrey yesterday afternoon.

Krumrey, who was charged with armed robbery, is believed to be the shooter.

He is in the Brazos County jail in lieu of a $300,000 bond.

News release from BPD:

The investigation revealed that a male approached Jose Pina and another victim and demanded personal property. During the course of the robbery, Jose Armando Pina was shot and killed. Witness statements and evidence collected from the area led us to an address in the 4000 block of Woodcrest in Bryan. A search warrant was executed at 5:15 pm for the address and an arrest warrant was obtained for Cameron McLane Sonny Krumrey, age 28 of Bryan, who is believed to be the shooter in this case. Krumrey was arrested without incident and transported to the Brazos County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing into this incident.
