By volume, College Station police get their largest drug bust.

A traffic stop on Highway 6 Tuesday during the noon hour for outdated registration on a trailer led to the discovery of three 55-gallon barrels containing liquid methamphetamine.

Lt. Craig Anderson says they are in the process of determining the value of the seized drugs.

Two of the barrels were about three-quarters full of liquid meth and the third was about a quarter full.

That led to the arrest of a man from Port Arthur. 39 year old Telesforo Lopez-Canales is held in the Brazos County jail in lieu of a $40,000 dollar bond.

Anderson, who says he’s never seen so much liquid meth in his more than 30 year career, reminded motorists to slow down or pull over when passing law enforcement and other emergency vehicles.
