K-9 Deputy Brazos County Pct. 3 Constable Diego Makes His First Public Appearance

Brazos County Precinct 3 Constable J.P. Ingram and deputy Andrew Drake introduces K-9 deputy Diego Joseph Amaya-May at Tuesday’s Brazos County commissioners court meeting.

The public is invited to meet Diego and his handler, deputy Andrew Drake, during an open house Wednesday afternoon from 1 until 3 at the Precinct 3 Constable and Justice of the Peace office at 1500 George Bush Drive, south of the Texas A&M campus.

J.P. Ingram, Constable, Precinct 3, Brazos County, is proud to announce the addition of our newest deputy! Deputy Diego Joseph Amaya-May is a black and tan German Shepard trained in narcotic detection. Diego was born in Poland on 11/10/2017. Diego was hand selected, imported to the United States, and trained at Pacesetter K9 in Liberty Hill, TX. Pacesetter K9 is a Veteran Owned and Operated company known for its high quality service canines. This amazing opportunity to provide Brazos County a police service canine would not have been possible without the generous donations from K9s4Cops, HWY 30 Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Lackey, The Ranch Harley Davidson, Excel Towing, Boyd Ready Mix, City Bank of College Station, Grand Station Entertainment, and Dr. Brian Abbey.

Deputy K9 Diego Joseph Amaya-May begins his service to the citizens and visitors of Brazos County this month. Constable J.P. Ingram would like to welcome all citizens of Brazos County to come visit Diego and the staff of the Precinct 3 Constable and Justice of the Peace Office on April 03, 2019, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Diego will be partnered with Deputy Andrew Drake.

After leaving college, Deputy Andrew Drake joined the US Army. Deputy Drake served as a Platoon Sergeant, Training Sergeant, Legal Sergeant, and Squad Leader. During his time with the Army, he was responsible for the health, welfare, and training of 344 soldiers. In 2003, he was deployed to Iraq, in support of the US Army’s Operation Iraqi Freedom, as an infantry squad leader and conducted numerous combat patrols within his designated sector. Deputy Drake received numerous commendations for his service, including; four Army Achievement Medals, one Army Commendation Medal, two Good Conduct Medals, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Noncommissioned Officers Primary Leadership Course. Deputy Drake also received the Combat Infantryman Badge for participating in ground combat operations while under enemy hostile action fire in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was honorably discharged from duty in 2005.

Andrew started his law enforcement career at the College Station Police Department. Officer Drake served with honor and distinction throughout his career at CSPD. Officer Drake received the CSPD Medal of Honor. Other awards include the Outstanding Service Award for 2013, he was nominated for the City of College Station Employee of the Year for 2014, and his unit was awarded the Outstanding Unit Citation. In January 2016, Officer Drake was selected to serve as a Patrol Corporal for the night shift.

In October 2016, Deputy Constable Drake was selected to serve as a Deputy Constable for the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office. Deputy Drake’s prior performance, reputation, and work ethic were found to be impeccable. Deputy Andrew Drake’s primary focus for the office was civil process. Deputy Drake has quickly become a resource for others in the state for the execution for all types of civil process. Deputy Drake will be partnered with Diego to serve the citizens of Brazos County.
