Arrests For Injuring Two Children And Vehicle Burglaries

A College Station man is in jail on charges of injuring two young children on Super Bowl Sunday. According to arrest reports from College Station police, 32 year old Bradley Dean Smith punched a four year old in the stomach so hard the child started screaming…and slammed his seven year old brother to the ground with enough force where that child started hearing buzzing noises and made him feel like his bone was broken. Smith is also charged in a separate incident with family violence assault and unlawful restraint involving an incident with a woman that took place on February 22nd. Smith is being held on bonds totaling $31,000 dollars.

The latest person to be arrested for vehicle burglary was the result of a witness telling the fleeing suspect to stop. This was Wednesday night in the parking lot behind the Golden Corral at University and Tarrow. 18 year old Christopher Dewayne Young Jr. of College Station is accused of leaving behind his iPhone in an unlocked SUV where $75 dollars cash and an iPhone charging cable were taken. According to the arrest report, Young said the money belonged to him. He is also accused of rummaging through a second SUV, where nothing was taken. According to online court records, Young pleaded guilty January 23rd to three crimes. He was sentenced to eight months in a state jail for two counts of credit card abuse and to two hundred days in the county jail for resisting arrest. It’s the fifth time since last March that Young has been booked in the county jail. Bonds from the latest arrest were set at $8,000 dollars.
