Bryan police receiving a Crimestoppers tip last September has led to the arrest of a Brazos County jail inmate on a charge of promoting prostitution.

According to the arrest report, an undercover officer making contact with a prostitute led to getting her cell phone, which contained information about 34 year old Marcus Ealoms of College Station.

In the last five months, detectives have monitored more than 1,800 phone calls between Ealoms and the prostitute.

And in December and January, the prostitute deposited more than $5,000 thousand dollars into Ealoms’s jail commissary account.

In addition to the new charge, Ealoms is in jail for violating parole and is awaiting trial on charges of evading arrest with a prior conviction, and evidence tampering.
