Dedication Of The New Bryan Fire Station No. 2

The dedication of the city of Bryan’s new fire station No. 2 took place Friday morning.

Speakers included mayor Andrew Nelson, fire chief Randy McGregor, and representatives of the design and construction companies.

The chief also recognized BFD retiree Siegel Rosier, who McGregor said “has been hanging out” in Bryan fire stations as a firefighter and in retirement for 61 years.

Rosier was on duty the first night the new central station opened in 1953…and in retirement has spent the first night in new stations in 1998, 2009, and the new station No. 2.

BFD chaplain Ernest Upchurch blessed the building and those who are working there.

The program ended with the fire department’s version of a ribbon cutting, the traditional uncoupling of fire hoses by mayor Andrew Nelson and fire chief Randy McGregor.
