Congratulations were given at this week’s Texas A&M faculty senate meeting to the improved standings in the annual U.S. News and World Report annual college rankings.

Credit for improving graduation and student retention rates was given to A&M’s student success initiative.

Provost Carol Fierke told the faculty senate that funding for the initiative will continue.

Among all private and public universities, A&M improved from 69th to 66th. Among public institutions, A&M rose from 25th to 24th.
