Three Vehicle Crash Blocks University Between Texas & Tarrow

From College Station police:

On June 13, 2018, at approximately 1553 hours (3:53 p.m.), officers with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of University Drive East and Nimitz Street in reference to a reported major accident.

Officers arrived on scene and learned the following:

A blue Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Nimitz Street approaching University Drive.

A white Mazda sedan was traveling eastbound on University Drive in the inside lane.

The Ford Escape attempted to turn westbound from Nimitz Street onto University Drive.

As it did, the Mazda sedan struck the driver’s side of the Ford Escape.

As a result of the collision, the Ford Escape flipped onto the passenger side and was pushed into the front bumper of a white GMC SUV traveling westbound in the inside lane of University Drive.

Both the driver and passenger of the Ford Escape were transported to the hospital for non-incapacitating injuries (injuries not believed to be life threatening).

Due to the accident, eastbound and westbound lanes of University Drive were temporarily closed while emergency personnel and wrecker services removed the vehicles.

The operator of the blue Ford Escape was issued a citation for Fail to Yield Right of Way.
