It took 47 minutes to get the fire under control at the University Trails complex on Luther West.

One unit on the third floor sustained heavy fire damage, and units on the first and second floors sustained major water damage.

One occupant was transported after having chest pains.

The first firefighters arrived at 9:41 a.m. and the fire was under control at 10:28 a.m. A total of 13 units with 42 personnel were at the scene.

Approximately 48 tenants in building 11 were displaced. 15 individuals who were on scene were displaced. They were either relocated by apartment management or with the assistance of the Red Cross and the TAMU CERT team. Other tenants were away due to school being out.
