High Speed Chase On The Freeway Leads To A Crash And Arrest
Featured Stories, News Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 A Navasota man is accused of leading deputies from the Brazos County precinct two constable’s office on a chase Monday morning on the freeway at speeds reaching or exceeding 100 miles per hour.20 year old Tyler Savant was arrested on charges of reckless driving and evading arrest.
According to a news release from the constable’s office, Savant refused treatment for his injuries after his dropping his bike in the front yard of Atkinson Toyota.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. today, deputies from the Brazos County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office attempted to stop a black and grey sport-type motorcycle which was northbound on State Highway 6 by-pass near the intersection with F.M. 2818.
The motorcyclist failed to yield and accelerated, reaching or exceeding speeds of 100 mph, weaving in and out of traffic, in an attempt to evade the marked patrol unit which was using emergency lights and siren in the attempt to stop the vehicle.
The pursuit continued until the motorcycle exited at the William J. Bryan Parkway exit, where the motorcycle crossed the width of the frontage road, left the pavement, and fell in the grassy right of way in front of the Toyota car dealership near that exit.
The driver was not seriously injured, and refused treatment or transport to the hospital from Bryan F.D. Emergency Medical Personnel.
The driver was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest using a Motor Vehicle (State Jail Felony), and Reckless Driving (class B Misdemeanor).
