College Station Council Investigating Charter Amendment Election This November

Voters in College Station could be asked to consider changes to the city charter.

After the city council at its last meeting directed the city attorney and city secretary to start reviewing the charter, mayor Karl Mooney told WTAW News one of the possible subjects is asking voters to return city elections to May.

Another possible question is extending the length of council terms, which are currently at three years.

A third possibility is changing language on how a city manager is selected.

The mayor says there would be public input before any final decisions are made.
