Guilty Pleas And Prison Time For Assaulting An Officer, Burglary Of A Home, & Stealing From The City Of College Station

A Bryan woman arrested four and a half years ago pleaded guilty this month to a charge of kicking a Bryan police officer in the face while trying to put her in a patrol car. The Brazos County district attorney’s office reported there was a plea agreement with 35 year old Kwajuana Johnson, who was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for assaulting a public servant. Since that incident in November 2015, Johnson was in the county jail seven more times. According to online court records, prosecutors were barred from proceeding with a charge of attempting to stab someone and driving with an invalid license with a prior conviction. In all, according to online records, she has been in the county jail 13 times in the last 11 years.

A College Station man awaiting a jury trial on breaking into a Bryan home two years ago reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. According to a news release from the DA’s office, 33 year old Tyrone Scott was sentenced to ten years in prison for that burglary…along with a robbery in College Station that also took place in 2015. Scott also has prior convictions for two robberies in Grimes County.

A Hempstead man arrested in July 2014 on charges of stealing $24,000 dollars of property belonging to the city of College Station then evading arrest reached a plea agreement this week. According to a DA’s office news release, 48 year old Marlon Bryant was sentenced to 26 years in prison. The length of the punishment was due to Bryant’s criminal history. Bryant admitted to entering a city owned storage building and taking a trailer loaded with a riding mower and a side by side ATV. After Bryant escaped arrest, police found his wallet in the driver’s seat of the getaway truck. He was found three months later.
