DPS Reports Two Cows Were Struck On Highway 6 Near OSR At Three In The Morning

While most of us were sleeping before sunrise Monday morning, DPS investigated two crashes that closed Highway 6 near OSR in Robertson County.

Shortly after three a.m., a southbound car struck a black cow that was in the road. Troopers say the driver was able to maintain control and stopped the car on the paved shoulder.

Moments later, a southbound semi struck a second cow. The driver of the semi lost control, hit the car, went down an embankment, crossed the feeder road, and struck a pipe fence at the equine hospital on OSR.

The driver of the car was taken to a Bryan hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. The trucker was not injured.

Troopers reported both animals died at the scene.

Thank you to the Texas A&M Athletics Department and let's beat those boys from Bama!
