College Station Council Appoints Interim City Manager

The College Station city council began Thursday night’s open meeting by naming an interim city manager.

Deputy city manager Chuck Gilman will take over April 1, as Kelly Templin takes over operations at the Texas A&M system’s RELLIS campus.

Gilman, a 1998 A&M graduate, joined the city in 2007 and has started his fifth year as deputy manager.

Before that, Gilman served as the city’s public works director, director of capital projects, and assistant director of water services.

The only council comments were congratulations given by Karl Mooney and James Benham.

Nothing was said about additional compensation for Gilman, or how the search for Templin’s permanent replacement will be done.
