A Bryan man released from jail five weeks ago on charges of thefts with prior convictions and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, is back in jail again on similar charges.

According to the arrest report from Bryan police, 39 year old Genaro Galvan is accused of driving a stolen truck in two business burglaries last week

According to online records, it’s the 32nd time Galvan has been in jail since February 1996.

He is accused of driving a stolen truck into the We Rent It store on Harvey Mitchell Parkway…damaging a chain link fence and gate along the way…then taking two chain saws and driving away in the damaged pickup.

The day after that, Galvan is accused of breaking into Ike’s Small Engine on South College by breaking a window and damaging the chain link fence and gate and taking four lawn trimmers.

Police identified the truck by pieces that fell off at the crime scenes, then the vehicle was found parked near a convenience store.

According to the arrest report, Galvan was found about one hour after the second burglary leaving a convenience store.

Galvan, who denies the charges, is held in lieu of bonds totaling $85,000 dollars.
