Two Die In West Bryan Crash

Update from Bryan police:

One of those who died was identified as 39 year old Juan Vanegas of Bryan.

The passenger who died was identified as 79 year old Refugio Vanegas of Bryan.

A second passenger, identified only as a 42 year old Bryan man, is hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Bryan police report a Friday morning crash involving two pickup trucks resulted in two deaths and three injuries.

The collision was reported about 6:45 a.m. on Highway 21 between Lewis and Graham in west Bryan.

Officers were told a westbound truck left the roadway and struck the other truck, which was waiting to exit a parking lot onto the highway.

The impact caused the pickup in the parking lot to roll over, coming to rest on its top.

The driver and one passenger of the truck that was struck were killed. A second passenger was injured.

The driver and passenger of the truck that left the highway received minor injuries.

No names have been released.

As of Friday morning at 10:30 a.m., westbound Highway 21 is blocked between Sandy Point Road and FM 2818. Eastbound lanes are open.
