Record Response And Volunteers For 2017 B/CS Chamber Day

There was a record number of volunteers and a record response to this year’s Bryan/College Station chamber of commerce survey of businessowners and employees.

Chamber president Glen Brewer told Brazos County commissioners that almost 2,000 volunteers visited nearly 1,200 businesses. The volunteers collected responses from 1,000 owners and employees.

Brewer says among the results were that sales are doing as well this year as 2016 and almost half of local businessowners expect to add employees this year.

The only concern was 26 percent of those representing construction companies thought they were getting qualified applicants for what Brewer said was a growing number of construction jobs. Both conclusions were based on 53 responses from those in construction.
