Hamels, Rangers hold off Astros

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Cole Hamels pitched seven scoreless innings, Elvis Andrus scored each time after his three hits and the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 6-4. Hamels limited the Astros to three singles only six days after his complete game against Minnesota. Houston has lost four straight games, and 10 of 13. At 71-44, the Astros still have a six-game lead over Boston for the AL’s best record.
