UPDATE: Pickup Goes Through ER Doors At CS Medical Center

Update:

College Station Medical Center announced Tuesday morning the emergency room entrance reopened.

That’s after a pickup drove inside Monday morning.

College Station police report the driver was admitted for treatment.

Officers have not received an explanation for what happened, due to the driver’s condition.

Original story:

A pickup drove inside the emergency room doors at College Station Medical Center Monday morning.

Police was alerted by the truck’s Onstar system, reporting the driver needed medical assistance.

Ten minutes after the Onstar alert, ER staff notified police.

The driver, a man from College Station, was being evaluated.

No one inside the hospital was injured.

The truck was backed out of the crash site without the use of a wrecker.

CSPD continues to investigate, and according to a news release charges could be pending.

Statement from College Station Medical Center:

A vehicle crashed through our Emergency Room entrance early this morning.

Fortunately, the vehicle did not hit any individuals and only the building sustained damage.

We appreciate the quick action of our staff and first responders to secure the area.

The ER remains open and patient care is continuing without interruption.

Until the main entrance is repaired, we request patients enter through the ambulance bay.
