News release from College Station police:

On Sunday, August 28th, 2016 at 2:00 AM officers with the College Station Police Department responded to 1101 Luther Street, apartment #1311, for a report of an assault in progress with gunshots fired. The incident left three men shot. Two of these men, Brysen Rhodes and Jack Lopez died from their wounds. The investigation immediately following the incident led detectives to believe that Rhodes and an unidentified white male went to the apartment to meet with Lopez and his roommate to purchase narcotics or commit a robbery. A fight broke out with both groups firing shots at each other. During the incident the unidentified man with Rhodes fled the scene.

College Station Police Detectives investigating the incident were recently able to determine the identity of this man. He is identified as Larry Kent Bonner Jr. Through the course of the investigation detectives discovered that Bonner accompanied Brysen Rhodes to 1101 Luther #1311 with the intent to rob Jack Lopez and his roommate of narcotics. This is when the fight broke out and shots were fired.

During the course of the investigation detectives uncovered information that showed Bonner was part of a group that robbed three residents at 1300 Harvey Mitchell PKWY, apartment #1311 around 12:30 AM on August 28th, 2016.
